The Alentejo SPA Hotel is a cornerstone of that past that has earned this region its place in history. 
Built on the 15th-century hermitage where the Brotherhood of the Servants of Our Lady worked, the structure was bequeathed to the Franciscan Order of the Algarves Province in the early 1600s.
It soon became one of the most important edifices in Portugal. Its decorations depict the transition from baroque to rococo.
